My name is Alex Ballinger and I'm standing to be Labour's next MP for Halesowen.
I've always been driven by public service. I've served with the Royal Marines, led humanitarian projects in the Middle East, and now run a mental health charity that helps people across Birmingham and the Black Country.
I twice served my country in Afghanistan helping keep our country safe, before becoming an aid worker and diplomat. I helped set up schools and hospitals for people fleeing war zones, helped organise aid convoys to Syria and worked on girls education in Pakistan.
I now run a mental health charity that helps people across the region. It's desperately needed. Our NHS is breaking down, austerity has ruined preventative services, and working people are struggling with the cost of living.
I have 20 years of public service behind me, but the most important work I hope to do is as your MP for Halesowen. Please feel free to get in touch using the form below.

I'll work for an NHS and social care system that puts patients first, is free at the point of use, and respects our hardworking staff.
I'll ensure our parks, canals and green belt are protected. I'll focus on sustainable developments and green industry in our towns.
I'll work with our schools, Halesowen College and regional universities to give more people the chance of quality education.
The number of children in poverty has increased under the Tories. I will make it my mission to end child poverty in Halesowen - working with councillors, charities and schools to improve lives.
I'll work to bring investment to our town centres, new public transport connections and more opportunities for young people.
